Indy Anna  10   Miniature   Jennet   Grey Spotted  Indy Anna is one of the original six donkeys that formed Donkey Park in 2012. Even though her coloring is not the sorrel, dark brown, or grey I had been looking for, she was the first donkey I acquired because she selected me by nosing me from behind when I was about to leave the farm with no donkeys selected. She was purchased from KZ Asspiration Acres, NJ, in February, 2012. Previously, she had been used for breeding and had produced three foals. She was pregnant when she arrived at Donkey Park in May, 2012 and delivered Dakota in March, 2013.
Romper   Miniature   Gelding   Dark Brown  Romper is one of the original six donkeys that formed Donkey Park in 2012. He was purchased with his half-brother, Stomper, from Blue Chip Farms in Walkill, NY. At Blue Chip, he was known as Brodie and served with Stomper (Bailey) as companions for a top, retired breeding mare, Treasure Blue Chip. He came to Donkey Park after Treasure Blue Chip died. Romper and Stomper have never lived apart from each other and are a closely-bonded pair.
Stomper   Miniature   Gelding   Dark Grey Dun,
 NLP
Stomper is one of the original six donkeys that formed Donkey Park in 2012. He was purchased with his half-brother, Romper, from Blue Chip Farms in Walkill, NY. At Blue Chip, he was known as Bailey and served with Romper (Brodie) as companions for a top, retired breeding mare, Treasure Blue Chip. He came to Donkey Park after Treasure Blue Chip died. Romper and Stomper have never lived apart from each other and are a closely-bonded pair. With his dark muzzle, Stomper is the only NLP ("no light points") donkey at Donkey Park.
Flint   Miniature   Gelding   Grey Dun  Flint is one of the original six donkeys that formed Donkey Park in 2012. He was purchased from Butternut Ridge Farm. He is responsible for my original herd going from four to six and my acquiring Sweetie Pie (and Flame, in-utero) as I couldn't bear to leave him behind after I met him on a visit to Butternut Ridge Farm. I've yet to meet anyone who thinks of Flint of their favorite donkey, but he is mine because of his being my first foal and being very intelligent and independent.
Sweetie Pie  25   Miniature   Jennet   Grey Dun  Sweetie Pie is one of the original six donkeys that formed Donkey Park in 2012. She was purchased from Butternut Ridge Farm in March, 2012. She had done some therapy work there. She was pregnant with Flame and the two came to Donkey Park in July, 2012, several weeks after Flame was born.
Flame   Miniature   Jennet   Bay Dun  Flame is one of the original six donkeys that formed Donkey Park in 2012. Flame is the daughter of Sweetie Pie. She was purchased in-utero from, and born at, Butternut Ridge Farm. She came to Donkey Park with her mom in July 2012.
Dakota   Micro–Mini   Jennet   Black Spotted  Dakota is the daughter of Indy Anna. She is the only donkey born at Donkey Park (in March, 2013). Although her parents are normal sized, she is unusually petite at 27" tall and considered a "micro-mini".
Cocoa   Miniature   Jennet   Dark Brown  Cocoa came to Donkey Park in the Fall of 2014 from a neighbor whose home circumstances had changed and could not keep her and Snicker and needed to find a new home for them. She was primarily a pet at her former home. She was originally named Patience but was renamed Cocoa because of her dark brown color and to give her a more kid-friendly name. She and Snicker have never been separated and are a closely-bonded pair.
Snicker   Miniature   Jennet   Dark Brown  Snicker came to Donkey Park in the Fall of 2014 from a neighbor whose home circumstances had changed and could not keep her and Cocoa and needed to find a new home for them. She was primarily a pet at her former home. She was originally named Jezebel but was renamed Snicker (after a Snickers bar) because of her caramel brown color and to give her a more kid-friendly name. She and Cocoa have never been separated and are a closely-bonded pair.
Suzy  ~8   Miniature   Jennet   Grey Dun  Suzy came to Donkey Park in December of 2014. She had previously been a guard donkey for sheep at a farm in Columbia County, NY owned by Sheila Bridges (named "America's Best Interior Designer" by CNN and Time Magazine). When Sheila sold the farm, she needed a home for Suzy. I had previously helped Sheila with some training and offered to serve as a foster home until we could place Suzy. But, Suzy tried to bite the person I had carefully selected to be her new owner. This was not characteristic of Suzy and I took it to be a sign that she wanted to stay at Donkey Park. Affectionately known as Sassy Suzy, her personality has made her one of the most popular donkeys at Donkey Park.
(Big) Susie  ~12   Large Standard   Jennet   Grey Roan  Susie (and her daughter Cinnamon) were bought in October, 2015 from a temporary owner who had purchased them from an auction to prevent them from being sold to a kill buyer. They had had three different owners in the prior year before ending up at the auction. Susie and Cinnamon have never been separated and are a closely-bonded pair.
Cinnamon  ~7   Large Standard   Jennet   Sorrel Roan  Cinnamon (and her mother Susie) were bought in October, 2015 from a temporary owner who had purchased them from an auction to prevent them from being sold to a kill buyer. They had had three different owners in the prior year before ending up at the auction. Susie and Cinnamon have never been separated and are a closely-bonded pair.
Stripes  ~4   Zonkey   Gelding   Grey Roan  Stripes had previously lived at My Saddle Brook Farm, a horse rescue which, when possible, rehabilitates the animals for riding. I believe they acquired him from a private seller in the Fall of 2014 when he was two and a half years old. It is unclear to me his background before then. He lived at My Saddle Brook Farm for eighteen months but he required more time and energy to train him for their program than they could give him. He came to Donkey Park in April, 2016.
